Four weatherstrips

All our weatherstripping is hidden when the door is closed. Since the weatherstripping is black, it always looks clean.

Main weatherstrip

The main weatherstrip, located on the outside of the frame, is compressed when the door is closed. Since it is exposed to extreme weather conditions, it is protected by an aluminum retaining clip.

ProFlex weatherstrip

Our second weatherstrip, ProFlex, prevents air leaks during high winds. It is installed in the middle of the frame.

Internal weatherstrip

The third weatherstrip prevents frost and condensation build-up around the main weatherstrip. This internal weatherstripping prevents humid air inside the house from seeping through the gaps around the door.

Draft-stopper weatherstrip

Finally, the fourth weatherstrip is installed directly on the door. By creating a seal with the internal weatherstripping, it prevents air from leaking through the holes in the handle.

Security system/locks

Our doors can be fitted with a multipoint lock (optional). The solid brass handles are available in four styles (Allegro, Capri, Roma, Berlin) and several finishes.

Compliance with quality standards

Our doors meet the North American AMMA/WDMA/CSA 101/I.S.2/A440-11 standard for positive and negative design pressure, water penetration resistance pressure and Canadian air infiltration/exfiltration standards.

Alumican doors are ENERGY STAR certified, which guarantees energy efficiency. Tested and certified by an accredited independent organization, our doors are evaluated in terms of their heat transfer rate, energy rating and airtightness.
